• Question: why is our galixy called the milky way

      if you go to the right places (where it’s very dark) you can see the milky way at night. because it has a lot of stars very close together, it looks kind of like a pale line across the sky. the romans thought it looked like a white road and called it the Via Lactea – we translated that to english as the Milky Way.
