• Question: what does the moon taste like?

      disappointingly, the moon is made of rock which doesn’t have much taste. mars might taste a bit salty though. NASA thinks there is salt on mars which is exciting because it looks like it might be from salty water, and water is useful if we ever want to go there. it also means that we’d have something to put on our chips if we do visit.

      Hi Tumblebum

      so I thought the moon would just taste like rock because that is what it is made of but I had a look on the internet (because I can’t lick the moon to test for myself) and I found out that Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke says it smells and tastes like gunpowder!

      I don’t know what gunpowder tastes like and I don’t know why Charlie Duke licked the moon but there we have it…gun powder.
