I don’t have a lab, but I have an incredibly messy desk covered in research papers, bits of mathematics and computer parts. :/

No. It would be hard to work in a messy lab. All the scientists working in the same lab need to know where everything is so having your equipment and lab space tidy helps to keep everyone happy.

      HI jojo2

I try to keep my lab area tidy but as you may have seen in my YouTube video about my day…some of the people I work with have VERY messy lab areas. I need to keep mine super clean because I work with (often) unknown species of bacteria so I have to treat the area like they are ones that cause horrible diseases until I’ve done experiments to actually work out what kind of bacteria they are. So having my lab area pretty much empty so that I can clean it with special chemicals to kill any nasty bacteria.
So far, every time I’ve identified any bacteria they haven’t been nasty though so that’s good!

      Senga 🙂

my desk is another story….it’s so untidy
