Actually…there might be. Did you know that in 1996 a meteorite that landed on Earth from Mars was checked by NASA and they found microscopic fossils of bacteria from around 3.6 million years ago in it? NASA said that this meant that there could have been some sort of life on Mars back then! Ok so it’s not little green men or creatures with huge heads and eyes but that’s still pretty cool.
I also think that with so many galaxies filled with planets in the universe it would be quite possible that there is at least one planet, millions of light years away that has intelligent life. Wouldn’t that be amazing? I wonder what they would look like and how they would talk to each other.
I think so. There is good reason to think that there might be. Scientists have discovered (quite recently) lots of other planets (outside our solar system) that are quite like Earth in that they are just the right distance away from a star to be the right temperature for things to live on them. (The main thing is they need to have liquid water.)
And those planets we have discovered are all inside *our* galaxy. There are LOADS of other galaxies (billions, maybe trillions) that we know very little about. Each one of them surely has loads of planets that might possibly have living things on them.
Maybe you could become an Astrobiologist and study things like this one day!
