• Question: Are aliens real??

      Thanks for your question, I love it!

      Actually…they might be. Did you know that in 1996 a meteorite that landed on Earth from Mars was checked by NASA and they found microscopic fossils of bacteria from around 3.6 million years ago in it? NASA said that this meant that there could have been some sort of life on Mars back then! Ok so it’s not little green men or creatures with huge heads and eyes but that’s still pretty cool.

      I also think that with so many galaxies filled with planets in the universe it would be quite possible that there is at least one planet, millions of light years away that has intelligent life. Wouldn’t that be amazing? I wonder what they would look like and how they would talk to each other.

      A lot of scientists do think it is quite likely that there is life somewhere else in the universe because it is just so ridiculously big.

      Actually, I just remembered something interesting about this. There is a star that astronomers discovered quite recently called ‘Tabby’s star’. It’s very far away but you can see a picture here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KIC_8462852. A lot of stars change their brightness over time, but they almost always do it in a regular way that scientists can predict. The thing about Tabby’s star is that its brightness changes in a random way and we don’t really know why. One cool theory that some scientists actually proposed is that the changes in brightness are due to a giant alien structure that blocks out some of the light. This could only be done technology that is much more advanced than our own. (Anyway, there are other possible explanations that scientists are considering, but I like this one the best.)
