      i didn’t know this, but the water on earth all came from outer space. it’s made in space by stars, where hydrogen and oxygen get bumped together and make water. normally this happens around a bit of space dust and eventually all the space dust sticks together and you get a massive ice-covered asteroid. about 4.5 billion years ago, a load of these asteroids crashed into earth (nobody really knows where they came from) and brought all the water we now have. before that, the earth was hot and dry and covered in volcanoes and things and was generally not much fun.
