• Question: What is the best thing you've ever done as a scientist

      The best thing I did was being part of team that helps people to live. Sometimes in major operations patients can lose a lot of blood. My job as a biomedical scientist makes sure we test and find blood that is suitable for the patient.

      ok so this is going to sound a bit cheesy…I have taken DNA from 40,000 bacteria to work out who they are and the jobs they do, gone to conferences in lots of different countries to learn about other peoples science and even had people make fake poo at the White House but honestly, one of the best things I’ve done is this competition. All of the amazing questions from you and other young people have REALLY made me think about the work that I do and different ways to do it. One of the most important things about being a scientist is working out new ways to do things and you have all helped me to think of new ways to do my research….if I discover a new bacteria or something else new I will definitely name it after this competition!
